Setting the Filename

By default, the order number and the item number are used as the filename for an ordered item. For a Template, you can change the default filename using the Filename field.

To set a custom filename:

  1. In the Order Information section, in Filename, enter the appropriate filename details (either fixed text and/or notation).

  2. Select Save.

In the custom filename, you can use the following notations:

[Fixed Text:]
  • To give the file a specific fixed name, for example MYNEWPROJECT, enter this text in the Filename field.
[Question Text:]
  • To use the text answer to one of the questions as the filename, enter that question ID in the Filename field using the following notation: !questionID! i.e. !Question1!

By doing this, the filename will be set to the value of the text entered in that question's field.

[Configuration ID:]
  • To use the unique configuration ID number of the template as the filename, enter the following notation in the Filename field: $configurationid$.
[Asset Name:]
  • To use the Asset name of the template as the filename, enter the following notation in the Filename field: $assetname$.

Note: When using the Filename override function, it is the client's responsibility to ensure that either:

  • Only valid characters are used when building a file name. When using a question text field, then the disallowed characters option provides a method of applying suitable validation.

  • An appropriate method of allocating unique file names is applied, thus ensuring that the ordered content does not overwrite any similar named items at the output destination.

  • A method of moving and storing the ordered content at the output destination is in place that prevents the above scenario occurring.

Importing print designs

Use the Import Design drop area on the Properties pane to import a Brandgility formatted file from an external source, for example from another account, or from the Adobe product suite.
