Image Elements

When editing a template, you can pre-configure image frames. These frames hold images that appear in the template.

To add an image frame:

  1. In the top-left corner, select +.

  2. Select Image Frame.

Use the General and Permissions tabs to configure the image frame:

The available properties on each tab are as follows:

TabConfiguration
GeneralID: Brandgility generates a unique ID for the image frame. You can edit this if you wish.
Title: Enter a title for the image frame.
In the Upload Image section, upload a default image that you want to display in the Image frame element.
Animation: Select Add To Timeline to add the image frame to the animation timeline.
Note: this section is available only for animated digital templates.
In the Frame Position & Size section, adjust the position and size of the image frame.
In Scale, select a scaling option to determine how the image is placed in the Image frame:
Use Auto-size to set the maximum width and/or height of the text frame
Use Scale To Fit for items that you want to display in full and that must not be cropped, for example a logo.
Use Scale To Fill to ensure the image frame is filled with the selected image, which might not be the same size or shape as the frame, for example a background image.
Use Scale to focal area to ensure the focal area that has been defined for an image asset is always displayed in the image frame.
In Content Alignment, set the alignment of the image inside the frame. You can align your image with any edge, corner, or the centre of the frame.
In the Style section, set the required opacity. An opacity of 1.00 makes the image opaque. and an opacity of 0.00 makes the image transparent.
In the Effects section, you can apply additional visual effects to the image.
Use the checkboxes to select a visual effect to apply to the image:
Drop Shadow
Outer Glow
Reflection
When an image effect is selected, use the properties to control the other characteristics of the visual effect:
PermissionsIn the End User Options section, you can specify which of the various image frame settings are to be made available to the end user and thereby allowing them to modify the element.
Note:
If you allow the end user to modify image effects, the end user can set the Drop Shadow and Outer Glow's Size property to no more than 5% of the template's width or height (whichever is greater).
For example, if the template is 8000x2000, the end user can set the size of the Drop Shadow effect to no more than 400.

Cropping images

You can crop an image to choose how it fills an image frame. Elements that can be cropped are indicated by a blue crop icon. Locked elements cannot be cropped.

To crop an image:

  1. Select the image frame with an image that you want to crop.

  2. On the properties pane for the image frame, select the General tab.

  3. In the Frame Position & Size section, under Scale, select Scale To Fill.

  4. Double-click the image in the image frame.

  5. Select and drag the image to crop.

  6. Select Save.
