About types of Assets

An asset is a content item such as a template, a sub template, a static image, or a library item. As an administrator, when creating Asset Types, you will need to define which of the above, the Asset type will be. Asset Types are then available to users when creating assets and the type defines certain characteristics of the asset.

The following types of assets are available:

Type of AssetDescription
TemplateTemplate authors design templates. They can produce print, digital or HTML output. When these templates are made active, End user can select and configure them to produce print or digital materials, which are ordered through the appropriate channel.
Sub TemplateSub templates are "building blocks" that can be reused across different templates. For example, template authors can add the same boilerplate text to each of the templates that they create.
Library AssetLibrary assets are assets which can contain one or more elements (e.g. images, text, etc.), which can then be used inside a template design. The template author configures which library asset is to be used and this allows a user to choose from a set of assets (when configuring a template). As an administrator, you can also configure library assets so that a user can order these separately (similar to a Static Asset).
Static AssetStatic assets are assets that never change, e.g. a poster, a word document or a video, etc. Assets can be created that end users can order.
BriefBriefs provide information on requirements. They can be sent to third parties, for example a client or agency. When briefs are made active, end users can select and configure them to produce print (PDF) or digital (PNG) materials.
Sub BriefSub Briefs are "building blocks" that can be used across different Briefs. For example, end users can add the same question sets to the each of the Briefs that they create.
